There is no residency law in Scotland for those couples outside the UK wishing to get married in Scotland. This means that you can, if you wish, get married in Scotland within a short period of arrival.

Humanist Ceremonies
Humanist ceremonies have become legal in Scotland – which gives couples a further choice of the type of ceremony they wish to have.
A humanist wedding/affirmation can take place anywhere and is designed to suit the Bridal couple. It is dignified and serious, but with the religious element replaced by words and music which have real meaning for the couple. They can be as romantic and creative in designing their ceremony along with the celebrant.
