Scottish Church and Castle Wedding of Victor & Maggie

Victor and Maggie

Planning a Scottish wedding from afar must be fairly daunting for most couples, but Victor and Maggie claimed it was "easy". They had travelled throughout their lives together and just adored Scotland, its history, its culture and its weather, and it was always their ambition to become husband and wife in a traditional Scottish Ceremony in a Scottish Castle. There was an immediate ease of communication between us from the word go and it became a normal routine for Victor to call us last thing at night from his side of the world and first thing in the morning to us. When working with a wedding consultant it is so important to get a sense of friendship between you and also an ease of communication, otherwise how could you possible put the most special day in your life within the hands of what initially is a complete stranger. Good feedback is essential from both sides to keep the flow of important planning and details moving forward, that way it makes it easier when we approach the final stages before the wedding to pull all the information together which has been gathering over the months. We found a wonderful Castle for them, which fitted their specifications perfectly and all the wedding party could stay on site over the two days - this made the whole celebration like a family house party, no-body had to move or drive anywhere once they were at the Castle. Maggie was a very petite Bride and she looked just like a princess in her gown - in her culture, tradition has it that the wedding gown is made but never tried before the wedding as its bad luck, and so true to tradition her gown was put on for the first time on her wedding day and it fitted like a glove. Victor and Maggie were married locally at the Catholic Parish Church and the guests and the groom travelled to the church in a liveried replica 1920's Asquith Carriage, what a lot of fun they had! The Bride followed in a 1920 Austin 20 Landaulette ( originally purchased new by the current owners father ) - you couldn't get more traditional and in keeping with their surroundings than this! They returned to the castle after the ceremony, to be welcomed by a Jazz Trio - this was a special request from Victor who just loved Swing Jazz. Victor had a surprise up his sleeve for his new wife - he serenaded her with a Frank Sinatra rendition - he could go on any stage - it was truly a romantic moment for them both. It was a very happy day for all of their friends and families - it was a happy day for all of us who were involved and that surely is what everyone's wedding day is all about.
